When I’m sitting in synagogue with my son, Akiva, I’m usually focused on his concerns. The words don’t seem to reach us where we are at that time or place they can’t lift us beyond our everyday worries and concerns. (1 Corinthians 10:13) ~ When I am tempted, show me clear ways of escape and show me Your faithfulness. Many of us have had those moments – of sitting with others in synagogue or during a private moment – when prayer seems flat. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man.(Matthew 16:41) ~ Give me a desire to be a person of prayer so I will refuse temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
